Under the Rainbow 41.5" x 57.5"
Under the Rainbow was made in the Spring of 2007 by scanning tiny fragments of paintings into the computer and manipulating and collaging them in Photoshop. I went through over thirty iterations before finalizing the design. Five panels were printed from my computer and assembled along with a border hand dyed to extend the colors from the central design. I enhanced parts of the design with Prismacolor pencils and heavily machine quilted a wide variety of motifs. Under the Rainbow was awarded First Place in the Digital Imagery category at the 2007 International Quilting Association Show in Houston. There's a brief interview of me by the quilt at the 2007 Houston International Quilt Festival in Bonnie McCaffery's vidcast.
